Chapter One excerpt from Vengeance
Teaser of what's to come
Kenshin held on tightly to Ace’s muscular waist, the wind whipping all around them made him feel exhilarated as they raced through the nighttime streets. He was beginning to love the feeling of the engine revving between his legs. This was only the third time he’d ever been on a motorcycle and already, he couldn’t wait to learn how to drive his own. He laid his head against Ace’s back and enjoyed the smell of his leather cut. One day, he’d have that same badass patch on the back of his cut. For now, he was satisfied with the word ‘Prospect’ on the back of his as the lower rocker. It was the promise of something greater to come.
He couldn’t wait to get back to the clubhouse, he was exhausted. It was more than just physical, it was mental and emotional exhaustion as well. It’d been a long night and there was still a lot more to deal with. One of his tormentors was dead, Eddie, but that still left Jax, Frankie, and their ringleader, Randal. Kenshin did take pleasure in knowing that Eddie was dead. He only hoped his death was painful since it couldn’t be the slow, agonizing death he had envisioned for him. It also stung a bit that he hadn’t seen the moment when Nine Iron and Maverick had killed the son of a bitch, but he was willing to be happy with knowing they probably took pleasure in it. Kenshin wasn’t naive enough that he didn’t recognize bloodthirsty killers when he saw them.
Maverick and Nine Iron seemed to have a desire to see a man’s insides outside of his body more than Ace or Burger. They kind of freaked Kenshin out a bit, being around them gave him a chill down his spine. He wondered what they would be had they not had the club to keep them grounded and to give them purpose. He hugged Ace a little tighter as they leaned into a turn. Riding the motorcycle was so exciting and he could see the appeal and why a man like Ace was a master at it.
Kenshin tried hard not to get aroused, but his cock had other plans. Being in Ace’s presence in the bed was bad enough. But on this beast of chrome and leather was a whole different ball game. Ace stopped at a red light, then steadied the bike with both feet and Kenshin leaned in, kissing the back of his neck.
Ace turned slightly, a smile on his lips. “What was that for?”
“Thank you, for everything,” Kenshin said.
Ace reached behind him, patting Kenshin’s thigh affectionately. “You’re mine, I’m not going to let anyone hurt you again.”
Kenshin bit his bottle lip, a smile on his face. Never had anyone ever cared about him like this. Could this be real? Could Ace be real? A part of him was afraid that he’d somehow dreamt his escape from Randal’s imprisonment. That, in reality, he was still chained up in that hellhole, but that was his fear. No, his reality was that he was free and with a man who he could see himself growing old with.
They were off again and by the time they reached the clubhouse, Kenshin was dead on his feet. “I just want to sleep for like a year,” he declared as he climbed off.
Ace climbed off next, swinging his long, powerfully built leg over the bike. He took Kenshin into his arms, kissing him deeply. “That kind of sleep will have to wait. We have three rats to drown.” He took the helmet off Kenshin’s head and then his own, placing them back on the motorcycle.
Kenshin followed Ace inside the clubhouse, it’s was after four in the morning and some people were up chatting while others slept anywhere they could be comfortable. There were some air mattresses and sleeping bags, it was at that point, Kenshin remembered they were still in lockdown. So much going on and they still found time to help him. It made Kenshin feel closer to these strangers. They were doing more for him than his family ever had. He was understanding more and more each day, why Ace said, the Lords of Chaos MC was the family that would never abandon him. That would always be there for him.
They made their way through the sleeping bodies to the living area of the building. Up two flights of stairs, and they found themselves back in Ace’s room. Kenshin kicked off his shoes, and pulled off his clothes, then padded barefoot into the bathroom. He handled his necessities, then stepped out to see Ace sitting on the edge of the bed looking at his phone.
“Is everything okay?” Kenshin asked as he made his way over to him, taking a seat beside the much larger man.
Ace nodded. “Maverick and Nine have Jaxson at the Kingdom now. Nine is taking first watch.”
“Do you think Randel will come here looking for me or Jaxson?” Kenshin asked.
“Oh, he will, but whether or not he’ll come with the whole brigade on that bullshit warrant he was talking about still needs to be seen. The face that we have his partner means the ball is in our court. He was on some illegal shit anyway, kidnapping you, torturing you, he’s not going to want that to get out. His threat to raid us might have all just been bluster. That’s one of the reasons why we set up the sting we did. Let them think we’d taken the bait and panicked. I’m expecting that we’ll be hearing from Randel Neely very soon,” Ace said.
Kenshin laid his head on Ace’s shoulder. “Promise me you won’t let him hurt you.”
Ace tossed his phone on the bed, then wrapped his arm around Kenshin, pulling them both down on the bed. He kissed Kenshin, tongue and all, claiming that soft, sensual mouth all for himself. Kenshin wrapped his arms around Ace’s strong shoulders. He loved that he could feel the iron that was his muscles beneath his skin. Everything on Ace was hard and bulging, and it turned Kenshin on beyond words.
Ace broke the kiss, a low growl escaping his throat as he stared at the pretty boy in his arms. “I’m not going to let these assholes hurt either us. Trust me, baby.”
